Lydia Alene Maxwell, 97 of Walnut Ridge, died January 25, 2012 at the Lawrence Hall Nursing Center.

Born March 4, 1914 in Ravenden, daughter of John and Edna Justus Simpson. She was a homemaker and a member of the North Main St Baptist Church in Jonesboro.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William H. Maxwell; two sons, Wayne and Don Maxwell; two brothers, Millard and Garland Simpson; two sisters, Cora McCarroll and Faye Simpson.

Survivors include her son, Bill and Mary Maxwell of Black Rock; two brothers, Luther Simpson of Camden and Joe Simpson of Minden, Louisiana; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
