Gladys E. (Grandma) Bradley, 85, of Hoxie passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at N. E. A. Baptist Hospital.
Born May 1, 1926 at New Orleans, Louisiana, daughter of John Harry and Allie Shively McGory. She was a former employee of factories such as Skil, Frolic and Jonathan Logan Garment Co., an active member of First Baptist Church in Hoxie, where she was a children's Sunday School Teacher, a choir member, attended children's Church Camp as a counselor for twenty years and taught Vacation Bible School.
She was united in marriage to Johnny Bradley on January 11, 1946.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-five years, Johnny Bradley of the home; three daughters, Donna Mae Brown of Tidewater, Virginia, Patricia Hoffmeyer of Henderson, Tennessee and Janet Bradley of Jackson, Tennessee; two sons, Kenneth Bradley of Redondo Beach, California and Michael Bradley of Walnut Ridge; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was a lighthouse of love. This love very evident in the lives of many children that she taught through her many volunteer activities. Grandma Bradley was also very well known for her chocolate chip cookies.
